Dave Matthews Band was awarded the No. 1 Hot Tours ranking on Billboard in September with revenue reported from its 2013 North American summer tour through outdoor concert venues. Kicking off in Birmingham, AL in April, the 22-week tour included 34 amphitheaters and 2 stadiums, wrapping on Sept. 8 in the San Francisco Bay area. With an overall tour gross topping $40 million, more than 712,000 tickets were sold for 47 performances. The tour featured a total of 23 acts providing support on select dates. The top-grossing engagement was a 3-day run at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State on Labor Day weekend (Aug. 30-Sept. 1), the band’s traditional destination to close out the summer touring season.
